The Culhane Family

Ever since I started my business, I’ve always been drawn to nature. It’s so refreshing and sparks my creativity, and living in the “Forest City” gives me endless options to choose from! Plus, it’s so much better for kids, because they can run around and have fun too :)

But the problem is that there are so many months of the year where our parks lose their beauty, and before/during/after winter, the bare branches on all the trees do nothing for the background of photos. So this year, I spent so much time thinking about what else I could do…. Then one day, it clicked. I was driving downtown, pointing out some of my favourite spots to a friend, when I realized how perfect downtown mini sessions could be! Some of these spots were family friendly, and so my first annual downtown mini sessions were launched!

My friend Shanna (the talent behind Lace & Lavender Photography) and her family took full advantage of our first really nice day this spring, and chose the Old Courthouse and Dundas Place for their session. Shanna and Dustin took their engagement photos downtown, and their wedding photos, too, so it couldn’t have been more perfect than to bring their daughters out (everyone wearing their matching wedding day Converse shoes!) for a mini session. It was too much fun watching Addie and Ro navigate their way around my instructions, inspiring Addie with her own photo ideas and Ro happily following her older sister along the way. I just love having this little family in front of my camera any chance I get!
