A few years ago Virgin Radio London was hosting a contest in honour of the Pride London Festival. One couple would win their very own gay wedding on the Virgin Radio float during the parade! So many other local wedding vendors had joined in to give the winners the experience of a lifetime.
The winners were finally announced, and Todd and Dalton reached out to me to start planning. From the very beginning, they were so gracious for everything! Honestly, there could not have been two winners more deserving.
We started with some photos with the wedding party and some family at the Idlewyld Inn. Then we headed down to Western Fair for the start of the parade. It was so hot that day!! Thankfully we at least had a bit of shade from the roof of our little mobile chapel!
People yelled congratulations from the sidewalk, and an adorable little girl came up to give Todd and Dalton some rainbow bracelets she had made for them.
Everything started getting a bit surreal as our float approached downtown. Todd and Dalton were saying their vows and exchanging their rings, surrounded by hundreds of people. I was standing only a few feet away and couldn’t hear a thing over all of the cheering! It was truly the most incredible moment. Afterwards, the newlyweds got a little taste of life as local celebrities. Every few minutes they were getting stopped by people wanting to take a photo with them and pass on their congratulations! We ended our own photos at the Idlewyld Inn and then I headed on my way while everyone enjoyed their reception dinner :)
